ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Jordan can't win in this situation, and you're right, it's not her fault Portia was going over her deep dark secrets when she was in and out of consciousness in that basement. Portia put Jordan in an impossible spot. Jordan's been very kind, giving Portia chance after chance to come clean on her own terms. Time's up.

How could Stella just bail!?!?! Amazing that she's just quieted away. Leaving it to Jordan...come on ladies, bring the fire!!! Someone needs to smack someone at this wedding, lol. It is a gorgeous dress though. And Portia and Trina were sweet. This is gonna hurt to watch...glad Spencer is going to be at the show now, too. :)

Nina starting the episode strong by saying she's putting her daughter first, then decides to sneak in the room and give Willow a necklace to link her to her psychotic twin?!?!? What are you doing?!?!? The worst thing that ever happened to Willow (the Wiley/Jonah switch) was because of Nelle!!! Why would she want that? Come on, Nina. It matters more to you than it ever would to Willow. Bad play.

DeleteOkay... so many thoughts. First of all, Portia's dress is soap-a-licously stunning. I mean, if you're about to have your whole life blown into pieces... it might as well happen in that dress. TJ is ridiculously dapper. Everyone looks good. Spencer is of course handsome, but I wish they'd do something with his hair. The way they have it just flat and sometimes looking greasy is not flattering.

Nina never ceases to amaze me. Willow fears for her life and she comes around with her 99 cents looking necklace as reminder of Nelle... as if the woman needs that in her head right now. When you consider who Willow's birth mom, sister, and adoptive mom are... its a wonder how she even turned out normal-ish.
Okay... love Finn, but Liz is right. He needs to let her take responsibility. This is not Liz's first or second time making terrible decisions like this... homegirl needs to face what she's done so she can get her head straight, and I hope she doesn't find an excuse to back out of her plan.
I can't help but love Ava, "I know why I have experience in these extreme situations. Remind me to ask you why it all comes so naturally to you." LMAO!!!! Meanwhile she's moving about as if she didn't just kill the man she claimed to love, LOL. Granted, I still think he might be alive. I agree with whoever predicted that the body will be gone when they go look for it.
Alright, I've been hard on the leukemia storyline, but I have to admit the scenes between Michael and Willow were pretty good today. I want to see them get married. Willow can't give up hope... the writers better not kill her off. That would be crazy. ------------ Also, I really hope they don't bring Nelle back, not only because she was evil, but because she wasn't even entertainingly evil.... like Esme.
LOL, 99c necklace and I'm ROFL...it is amazing that Willow is so normal, she should be crazy with her mothers and grandmother! Seriously, is it genetic, because you have to be pretty horrible to send away two precious granddaughters to live in squalor so you can have their money. Psycho. Nelle and Nina make more sense than Willow, ha! And watching Ava effortlessly seesaw between guilt over and love for Nikolas, to matter-of-factly planning to dispose of his body is one of the reasons I love her too. That body's going to be long gone...
DeleteI just had a scary thought - with Nina resurrecting Nelle's name and talking about the "connection" between twin sisters, what are the chances that now is the time that Nelle will rise from the dead and swoop in in the nick of time and save Willow's life?

Hell, I remember when Nelle set HIM up to make it look like she and him were sleeping together. He has turned into such a wishy washy coward when he is around Nina. It's almost like he's sleepwalking through his lines.
DeleteAlso, I agree with all of the comments about Portia's dress. It is beautiful and the actress has a great figure and wears it perfectly.
I mean... I want Willow to live, but.... ugh.... Nelle is horrible.
DeleteThat being said... Nelle returning would create a ton of conflict beyond the obvious. Sonny can comfortably date the mother of the woman who tried to kill his son because Nelle's dead and lives as a hypothetical in Nina and Sonny's head. But, if she returns, how would Sonny grapple with the reality of it all? That would give Michael even more reason to hate him. Also, who knows how Nelle would feel about Nina. There's a possibility the two of them would team up to continue their obsession over Carly. Or, Nelle could blame Nina for her whole life and target her instead... that could be worth watching.
@Janis... because Sonny is a huge hypocrite. I don't get him at all. He is absolutely wishy washy. He had the audacity to lecture Carly about keeping the truth from Nina, when Nina kept him from his whole family. Michael, Willow, and Drew had a right to be upset with Carly... but Sonny... I couldn't even tolerate it, and I was livid that Carly even bothered to explain herself. I still have high hopes that they'll salvage Sonny's character, but these writers seem determined to ruin him.
DeleteI would hate it if she is the one to save Willow's life. Everybody's going to be so grateful to her for it, doors may open to her, which she would use to her advantage. Especially when it comes to Nina. Ugh. As sickening as she has been since finding out that Willow is her daughter, she's going to become unbearable if Nelle "miraculously" rises from the dead. Nina will try to totally rewrite history. There's a lot of potential for story lines there, but I don't think I could handle it.

I think I was on one of my famous GH hiatus during all the big Avery storylines so I'm not as familiar with everything that went down around that time... although, I know about them. I just watched a scene with Nina having a breakdown upon seeing Avery at the courthouse. Michelle Stafford did an amazing job playing a woman who'd lost her mind.
DeleteI think this current storyline would have landed differently for me if Michelle was still playing Nina, because Michelle added this childlike vulnerability to the character. Both Nina and Sonny have mental illness and it could have been interesting to explore trauma bonding between them... maybe they still can. As someone else said, I think Sonny might even have Stockholm Syndrome. But as it stands now... I agree with you.
In regards to Nina and Ava, that's actually the one relationship that doesn't bother me as much (perhaps because I didn't watch the kidnapping stuff). Ironically enough, those are the only Nina scenes I don't fast forward through, lol. One thing I really like about Ava is that she knows what she's capable of, so she doesn't necessarily asses things the way most people do. I think Ava was able to forgive Nina because she knows the many things she's done and is still willing to do... as we've seen this week.
That's one thing about Ava, at least she's not a hypocrite (she's never pretended to be a good girl, ha!) and she does always end up paying the price for her mistakes. LOL, now she gets along with nearly everyone she has so terribly wronged in the past! She knows she has no real right to hold a grudge. And I agree, previous Nina would have a fascinating dynamic with Sonny.
DeleteAlso... last thought on Sonny. Maurice Bernard has commented several times that he's tired of playing such a dark character. He's a method actor and he gets mentally impacted by the roles he plays. I respect that and understand. I don't even think he should continue doing this if it's not good for him.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think when they did the whole Mike thing they were trying to give him a "break" from it, but it never made sense because he's still in the mob... and it's not like Carly is what tied him to the mob. If anything, Nina's pulls him into a darker world with the likes of Liesl and company.
I'm not sure why they don't just create a storyline for him to get him out of the mob. They can introduce a new Sonny-type character if territory is the concern. Sonny can even mentor this next person while he focuses on building something new. It'd be fun to see Sonny explore life outside the mob. Maybe he could actually focus on that restaurant. Anyway... my point is, they can shift his character without making him such a huge hypocrite, while keeping the mob stuff if that's what they really want.
Yeah, it would be great for Sonny to move into a different chapter. It seems like Maurice Benard really is just tired with the role, so give him an easy exit into a happier situation. If he were diagnosed with some sort of Stockholm syndrome/medication issue to make sense of the last couple years, I'd love to see him move on from Nina and focus on his kids and his restaurant. He's always loved cooking. Heck, his sauce was a big clue about his whereabouts from the Nixon Falls days. Chef Sonny! That's another character that could use a serious soap reset. There are so many potential catalysts, like this new mob threat moving in on his territory, Michael's plot, or Sonny just recognizing the pain his family is going through, with him unable to really help because of choices he's made. Give Sonny/Maurice (a legacy character) a new direction! Would love to see Maurice excited about his acting again. That family is crazy enough, they don't need the mob. Heck, bring back a Morgan (his son or Jason, even a recast of either), that would snap some sense into him and bring real joy back to the character!!!

DeleteI like the Ava and Austin duo. They are very entertaining together. I don't know if I would like them as a couple, but i do like them as friends. Sorta like what Britt and Brad, used to be. I really wish they wouldn't have made Willow, Nelle's twin. They should have just brought back the actress that played Nelle, to portray the twin also. She didn't have to be a regular, but just pop up from time to time. Could have even had a storyline where you wondered if it was Nelle or the twin. But since they went with Willow, that means he deceased Silas Clay is her dad. How come they don't look to see if any of his family members are donor matches? Since he was said to be a cheater, he may even have another kid or two out in the world.

With all the investigators at their disposal, courtesy of Drew and Aurora, it's a real shame it came to this. :( Hopefully Liesl is a match! I also hope they keep Ava and Austin as friends! We need more platonic friendships on the show!
