Delete@Vincenzo explain why you think it is Carly’s fault if Willow dies. Carly didn’t get her pregnant. Wasn’t Willow the one to delay chemo treatment to have a baby. Her death would not be because of her leukemia it is because she is hemorrhaging from childbirth. You sound like Nina.
DeleteNow Willow will probably need a transfusion from Nina to save her so Nina can brag about saving her daughter anyway. This show is really getting ridiculous.
DeleteYeah... if Willow dies, it'll be on Willow. They tried to do 90s storytelling with 90s logic that simply doesn't work in 2023... and I don't think as much of the audience is falling for it based on all the comments I've seen in various places. One commenter said she was tired of the weeping Willow storyline, ha!
DeleteWillow wasn't some poor lady with bad health insurance and zero options. Willow is with one of the (if not) richest man in Port Charles, the doctors at GH are her friends, she has access to the best care and treatment in the world... but homegirl still decided she'd keep her diagnosis a secret, and ignore all of her doctors' recommendations. When she finally told Michael the truth, Michael suggested they do a blood drive and invite everyone they know to participate... but Willow refused... why? Because she didn't want people treating her differently. The lady was more worried about her ego than her health, her unborn child, Wiley and Michael. I don't blame the character as much as the terrible writing, but this storyline does not make Willow look good. Audiences are not as sympathetic with unnecessary martyr-ism when there are options.
The only ones who blame Carly are people who already hate Carly and are prepared to blame her for world poverty, so that doesn't matter. However, let's not forget that Nina wasn't even a match. Whatever is happening to her now literally has nothing to do with Carly. If Roseam is right and they're forcing a storyline where Nina gets to be the savior... I'm seriously going to vomit. They probably went that route when they realized the audience has access to facts, and many people were pointing out that mothers are rarely donor matches for their kids.
I have to agree with a lot of what QueenT said, which is sad, because I like Willow. She is a good person, with an incredibly awful upbringing, but this could have gone very differently for her and it's not all Carly's fault, it's her own. You can want your privacy and to deny/delay reality all you want, but then you have to deal with the consequences. This whole situation (and needing to reveal Nina as Willow's mother) all felt disjointed, dragged out for years, then all crammed in in days, in execution. Didn't care for it. Willow had other options, like you said, and that makes it ever more hard to swallow. No secrets here, I would have loved for Liesl, or even a member of Carly's family, to be involved. That would have really added some nuance and new directions to the story. Frustrating. Some of you all could write these storylines better, lol!
DeleteRemember, Willow and Nina had enough markers to be a blood transfusion match, but not a bone marrow match. Both things are so different from the other. When you have a blood disorder, like leukemia, transfusions of platelets are used for excessive bleeding and transfusions of plasma for blood clotting. Nina being her mother would probably match when they separate them after drawing whole blood.

DeleteYes @ Queen T it is only willows fault no one else’s but at the same time I get it , she’s so scared because she already lost one baby she doesn’t want to lose another child not realizing the logic that she does have the best care and support and that the risks for delivering her baby although they are risks they are normal ones that pregnant mothers deal with all the time , can’t really judge her for that no one knows unless they’ve been in her shoes , but I’m sure like you guys said there using this hemorrhaging to have Nina save her these writers ughhh !

I really feel for Willow too @Michelle, I think there is a lot of unresolved emotional trauma that she's dealing with that they really could spend more time on in the show. I mean, stolen from birth herself, just to be kept on a commune, abused by her adoptive mother and Shiloh in that wretched way, losing her baby after "having" the baby, which is what her own twin sister (unbeknownst to her) put her through, going to jail, now leukemia just about killing her when she's got a real life ahead of her (Michael, Wiley, baby, nursing career), not even to mention the ordeals with Nina (losing her teaching job, fights, court, etc.) only to find out she's her mother, it's a lot to deal with. Of course she's not making good decisions on her own. She needs more help and support, that she's not asking for, probably because of her upbringing. She still not used to being able to count on people, and feels like she should just suffer in silence. Makes me so sad for her, especially her calling out for Jonah today. :(

DeleteLaughing it up this episode, with all unintentional humor. Great quiet acting by Jordan as Stella steadily figured everything out, not just her problem anymore! Loved her eyes lighting up as she tried to hide a smile... Can't wait to see how Curtis reacts to the truth now after his chat with Drew, because there's no way Stella lets this wedding move forward. Then a great look from Esme when Nikolas told her he was the Dad, ha, gotta love it when the town pariah looks at you like you're a total dirtbag, lol. What a tough time to pick up that role as a new actor, ha! Didn't realize how far apart Joss and Trina have grown, they seemed pretty distant today. Ladies spending too much time with their boyfriends, lol. Hope to see more of Ava and Spencer working together, what a great dynamic that could be, with Trina in there to try to stop them both from doing anything too crazy... Finally Harmony showing up at the end like an angel, and I was like, that is no angel!!! Live, Willow, live!!! So much unintentional laughing today...
ReplyDeleteIt took me less than 10 minutes watching this show, its becoming more of a comedy and I just fast forward most because they just stretch the show by repeating things. How is it that Willow said, I've seen it in training but never actually had it done with the anesthesia? (off course she saw it in training and off course she's not had it done...duh) then every other word since willow got sick has to do with mentioning she's in training and should know about these things. What did Nina do that's so unforgivable to Willow, Willow is becoming Michael's puppet and Michael is Carly's puppet.
DeleteI feel you with the redundancy in scripts and storytelling--in the old days you'd get repeated lines, but it was only at the beginning of the episodes, to remind you of where the storyline left off. Then everything would move forward. Now whole episodes can be flashbacks or memories or just characters saying the same things over and over again. :( I wish they would create more new content per episode again, and I REALLY wish they would plan out the Friday cliffhangers better--there always used to be some real bombshell to get you revved up for the next week!!!

I really hope he apologizes to Jordan because her stuff was work related , him being a cop before should know better but this is life changing and taggart and Trina they are going to b pissed at Portia but hey Jordan tried to tell her , hope no one tries to blame this in Carly too lol 😂 jk
DeleteDefinitely would love to see Tyler Christopher back as Nikolas someday, but I think he's done for good with the role. :( The character seems to be going off-screen in some way soon, but if they do decide to bring him back, I hope they find someone who can really go toe-to-toe with Ava, Spencer, and Viktor, that would make it worth it. :) And Portia is going to be in soooo much trouble, she's cruising for a bruising. She'll have no one to blame but herself--even Jordan's been trying to get her to do the right thing for forever. Jordan will deserve an apology, in my opinion, but definitely won't get it. If anything, I bet even Curtis is mad at her for keeping the secret with Portia. Valentine's is going to be fire on GH this year!

ReplyDeleteHis forced (by the writers, I'm sure) friendship with Nina is the worst! Just another one of her enablers that prevents her growth as a character. If he could shed his relationships with her and Portia, sooner rather than later, he'd go back to being one of my favorite characters! Would love to see more of him with Trina and her friends, maybe getting roped into whatever big story the Cassadines are heading for, and taking real friend Drew (from old Drew days) along for the ride, that would be awesome! Give those two a real bro adventure storyline of their own!

Does anyone know if this Nikolas is going to be around for awhile? I was under the impression that the character was being phased out and Old Nikolas got pissed and didn't come in to film his last scenes. So is this actor just filling in to get the last scenes filmed...... or was my information wrong, or I misunderstood what I had read, and this actor will continue with the role as New Nikolas?

DeleteI honestly won't miss this version of Nikolas, it's hard for me to picture anyone but Tyler Christopher in the role. If they bring the character back, bring someone with that real Cassadine swagger, confidence, and menace that can play ball with the likes of Spencer and Ava. This one spent the whole time getting played by everyone, he just felt selfish and spoiled, not formidable. And yes, definitely, don't fake kill him again!!!

And there's nothing like a baby's chubby little thighs. ♥️ But probably a lot closer to being three months than newborn (let alone a premie). But it's typical. I think I read once that there's a certain age before a baby can be under the lights or something. But I get it. It just always cracks me up. Especially when you think about how Willow was worried about delivering her too soon, and when they showed the baby, I'm thinking "Too early? Hell, that baby is about ready for Junior Prom." 😂
