Just curious as to why this weird frame thing that eats up a quarter of the screen is back. Is there any way of getting rid of it after we've downloaded the video?

DeleteIt's intentional so there won't be a fix. Just like the frame rate of 10 won't be "fixed" although the standard is 24 which is why it's so clanky. The russian video at least didn't have the issue you describe so they're preferable. GH has fallen a long way, there used to be several sources to get episodes.
DeleteI think it's a copyright thing and ABC wanting us to have to pay to watch. ABC will actually show it for free on their website - after a week. Same with their other shows.

It's all about how Nina feels. Yes, if I was Carly and Willow had said she didn't want to find her real mother, I would have kept my mouth shut too. God, she's sickening and vile and has to be the most self-absorbed character on t.v. Her whole "she's MY daughter!" is sick. And I've decided Esme's not faking the amnesia. She keeps saying Kevin looks familiar when it's obvious she means Ryan and I don't think she would potentially out him like that. And her reaction was sorta cute when she thought Victor was her actual uncle. And when she said she wasn't playing the cop. "I just told him what I wanted."
