Valentin and Anna are at a bar in New York city. Valentin mentions that Maeve the bar owner is singing Danny Boy in the back of the bar. I'm not sure if anyone would remember this, but years ago an Irish woman named Maeve Ryan was a bar owner in New York city on a soap opera called Ryan's Hope. :)

I'm not so sure he didn't. There was kind of a pausse there - like he was thinking about it. Maybe not an immediate connection, but kind of a vague "where have I heard that name before?"
There was a time when Maxie lost so much weight, she was gaunt and had to take some time off from the show to get better. I would much rather see Maxie as she is now than what she was back then. And, no, she's not pregnant in real life. Just at a much healthier weight.
I don't think it was related to any physical illness. And I have no idea if she's been officially dianosed with an eating disorder, so I'm not going to go there. Maybe she decided she wanted to "look good" and it got out of hand. I do know that she's struggled with some emotional issues and the weight loss came shortly after her divorce. I also believe she lost a brother some years ago and she struggled with that and might have had to take some time off from the show back then, too.
A medical condition that causes her to lose and/or gain weight? As for her brain surgery, that's common knowledge and I think obvious to most, if not all of us, that is why Maxie is leaving town.
We're meant to believe that Anna and Valentin would choose the nastiest bar in NY, looks like it's out of the 1950s and it's playing country music??? This is where they decided to hang out? Really? of all the cool - both upscale and not - bars and cafes... this is where they thought would be a good place? Anna, the international spy, Valentin the wealthy international man... hanging out in the shittiest bar in all the world while in NY.
Location, location, location, it's across the street from the hospital where they are hoping to find Peter's pilot. Also this is the same bar that Cyrus had Sonny, Jason, and Mike attacked at when they were taking Mike to NY Methodist to try to get him in a clinical trial for Alzheimer's.
Interestingly NY Methodist has the same halls/walls and Port Charles Mercy hospital. This show seems to be lacking funding or the set designers are just lazy.
This being filmed a while back the explanation may be that Kristen Storm just recently had brain surgery. She was likely on a steroid to reduce swelling at this time. This whole " leaving Port Charles" is her actually taking leave for her surgery.
