ReplyDeleteI just saw that article about the girl who plays Molly. Shocking considering what her character is like on the show.
ReplyDeleteShe's an actress, she can play a lot of different characters, so that's not a factor, IMO. What I find shocking is why she or anyone for that matter would take the chance. Seriously, if you can't afford to uber and you need to drink, drink at home! A DUI is no joke, that s#%t follows you for a long time.
DeleteIt's going to be hard for her to dig herself out from under this, especially since the other driver had "significant" injuries - although I'm not sure exactly what that means. Either way, she's likely looking at a vehicular assault charge. What gets me the most is the actress' behavior after the crash. Sometimes the lines between the actor and the character they play can become a little blurry and it's easy to forget that they are totally different people. A big reminder of that for me was reading about the actress being more concerned about her $400 shirt than the other driver. When I saw that, I was really disappointed because Molly would never behave like that. I had to remind myself that Molly is a fictional character and not the spoiled, entitled, and insensitive person the actress apparently is.
DeleteThis is going to be a very unpopular opinion and I'm obviously not defending what happened but I'm seeing a lot of she should have ubered and she cared more about her shirt comments (on twitter especially) and people seem to forget she was drunk and drunk people aren't exactly known for being rational. Not to mention, was she with people before getting behind the wheel? Were THEY sober? Did they try to stop her? Take her keyes?
DeleteWe don't know what led up to what happened. And I'm certainly no angel myself when it comes to certain substances and bad decisions. But to try to put the blame onto other people also isn't right. Whatever mistakes and bad decisions I've made in my life, they were my OWN. And the same applies to this actress.
DeleteI agree with you, Janis, that her behavior after the accident was very off-putting. I also think she's responsible for her own poor decision-making. That being said, I think there might be a little more to the story for GH to immediately fire her like that. These soaps are usually pretty loyal to long standing actors and usually only fire them in more extreme cases. Granted it's not clear what happened to the victim so perhaps the details about that is what caused them to fire her, but I'm thinking this accident is probably the tipping point for something that's been building up for a while. It's just a hunch... but something about the actress has seemed off to me for a while now.
DeleteSo she was fired? I hadn't seen that for myself yet, but it's not surprising. It's very sad all around. She's a young woman that had her whole life ahead of her. She also possibly ruined the life of another person (I haven't seen anything about the extent of their injuries). She could have even killed someone. Hopefully, over time, she can acknowledge what she has done, although her behavior after the accident, and then her rather nonchalant public statement about her minor injuries and needing to be off the show for awhile while she recovers, don't seem to reflect any kind of remorse. She's so young; hopefully she can find a way out of this and will become a better person in the end. On top of everything else, by the time all is said and done - financial liability, etc. - I doubt she'll be buying any $400 shirts for awhile. If ever.

I really hope the other driver is okay as well. And yes... she's coming off bratty for sure. However, because she's so young... I hope this is not something that ruins her whole life...and more of a moment to pause, reassess, and make some lifestyle changes.

I know. That whole conversation between Sasha and Nina just grossed me out. And Nina is doing her daughter a huge disservice by not realizing that her decision to not play the mommy/daughter thing is HER choice. Does she really believe that Willow is that easily controlled and manipulated? I lost a lot of respect for Sasha after those scenes. Personally, I hope Willow NEVER lets Nina into her life, although I suspect it will happen sometime. Hopefully just before it comes out who called the SEC.
DeleteI also think they are setting Portia up for some kind of a breakdown or something. Between her almost manic obsession with Spencer and Trina, and then whatever happens when she finds out that Curtis and Jordan are playing kissy face (even if it goes no further), I think she's going to crack.
Yeah... Willow will eventually forgive Nina but I hope it's not anytime soon. I hope the SEC secret comes out sooner rather than later so that those who are still fooled by Nina can see her true colors. Sasha is only blinded by Nina because she feels guilty for lying to her about being her daughter. What Sasha doesn't realize is that she made a mistake during a moment of weakness when she was struggling, and that mistake spiraled out of control... however, Nina's troubles is not due to one mistake... but a character flaw that causes her to blame everyone else for everything while she wreaks havoc without consequences.

That "No matter how you treat me" comment had me rolling my eyes. It would be satisfying if Ms. Wu took over Sonny's territory. Doubt that'll ever happen but a girl can dream!
DeleteYeah... Jordan is pissing me off. Curtis kicked her to the curve for a dumb-ass reason. The moment there was a little disagreement/discomfort he took a hike and moved on before the divorce papers were signed... and now he's doing it again with Portia. Jordan is a cop... she should recognize this as a pattern.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Portia lied... and Curtis has every right to be mad, but he has no business trying to jump into another relationship a couple of weeks after walking down the aisle. He should be figuring out what to do next with Portia, whether or not it's to officially leave her, or to work on fixing things... closure needs to happen before anything else. I can't believe Jordan would even entertain being a part of something this messy and unstable.
Portia is an idiot. Alls he she's gonna do is destroy her relationship with Trina.
