🤣 I felt the same! I actually covered the screen with my hand until the next story was on. The writers could have taken a more creative path with this story line, one that I may have actually been interested in. Instead of having Nina in the role they could have brought in an unknown actress to play a stranger who meets Sonny and falls in love with him and he her.
I get that Maurice is bored in his role and wants to do something different but I really feel like this could have worked better without Nina in the picture, except to find Sonny on her way out of Port Charles and leaving him there without telling him or anybody else and then she leaves (not that I want him away from Carly and everybody, just saying if the writers had to make it this way...). And then after Nina is gone, a beautiful female stranger comes along and rocks Sonny's World. I feel like that would have been a much better storyline, but, just my opinion...
@celeste great comments. If Maurice was that bored with sonny, why not just leave the show entirely? The storyline is plain stupid. From the time nina walked in the tano, I knew that kiss was coming and should have covered my screen as well. The writers weren't that creative. Your idea was better.
The only actor that could play Nina Reeves was Michelle Stafford. Cynthia Watros is exactly the same character with any role she's ever been in (again, she is an alum of "House", another fave show). She's dippy and acts like she's high.
This "Nixon Falls" thing is really tedious. I have fast forwarded through more of GH in the past month than I ever have before. Get rid of this stupid storyline.
i agree with everyone on this topic i was really hoping elijah ended her. and yeah the red head michelle stafford made the role of nina reeves unique to the point anyone cast in that particular role is just a poor substitute.
My boss told me that Maurice Bernard was on all my children in the past and that he was funny in that row. I have never liked Sonny in the 10 plus however many years that I have seen the show. After he and Carly got Michael shot, I could not stand either of them. Then he shot to murder a policeman, Dante, and stood there telling him that he was going to watch him bleed out. I so wanted Sonny to go to prison for life. Then Sonny and Carly's criminal activities got Michael sent to prison instead of a non-prison sentence. For the first time, I actually like Sonny. I like him with Nina, who is not a criminal like Carly.
hmmm, Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure Nina kidnapped Ava and Sonny's child and pretended she couldn't walk, to win back Silas. Now she is betraying Sonny, by not telling him who he is or his family. So Nina has done her fare share of criminal/shady activity, just as almost every other adult and a few minors on this show have done.
I've been over the "Sonny and Carly Show" for a very long time. It's played out and boring. Brenda was the only character that livened up that whole "Jax/Sonny/Carly thing"....and I don't know if anybody remembers when she was knicknamed "Snarly" by...was that an early appearance by Elizabeth Hendrickson?
Carly is just boring...at least...Laura Wright is boring....maybe she and Wes need to take a year or so off and see if we miss them.
But yeah. The Sonny and Carly show is really tanking this whole soap.
I like the hospital stories, the romance stories, the police who are not criminals stories, the business stories, the sky stories, and the Nurses Ball stories. I DO NOT LIKE THE MOB STORIES.

Can we hope that Wes has another job somewhere...maybe at a Rennaisance Festival in upstate Indiana? For those who don't get it, he played a "king" in one of these festivals on "House" years ago. At least the over the top, schticky breathlessness was okay in that slap stick arena. He is awful on this show...and since Laura Wright needs to have her way and subject us all to her D List actor boyfriend...she may need to join that same Faire.
Sally needs to be the one to go packing not Summer. Summer has people who love her and who are her family there. Sally only has people who dislike her.
