ReplyDeleteI do not like this particular carly...I liked tamara braun in the role better...this carly just looks and seems evil. the hook killer will turn out to be the deputy mayor. decades ago the edge of night did the same thing when everyone thought that raven was the killer...but the killer was really aprils maid. simply stating that a lesser character will always be sacrificed whenever the show wants to keep the major players....just like when crane tolliver killed susan...he was also a lesser character

This is my favorite Carly actress so far, after the original. When she arrived, I felt like she brought a lot of warmth to the role, which, to me, the others lacked. It is most apparent in how she interacts with the kids.
The warmth helps soften all the negative behavior she engages in, so that it isn't as alienating as it would be otherwise.
It's weird to me that you think she seems "evil" in some stronger way than the other Carlys. It's the opposite for me.
Not intending to ignite any Carly vs. Nina controversy...
But I feel like the current Nina actress lacks warmth. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the original Nina and how quirky crazy she was, in a very likable and forgivable way.
I think this Nina's lack of warmth is part of the reason she is so widely disliked. Yes, she is the current queen of bad behavior, but to me that does not explain the hate in and of itself.
People forgive a lot of bad behavior for those who can exude some warmth and appeal (Britt being a prime example).
Again, I understand that there is a vocal minority of Nina support around here, and it's all good as far as I'm concerned. Just sharing my thoughts, not dissing anyone else's.
I agree with everything you said! i feel the same way about Carly, none of the other actors playing Carly's had that mom lovable vibe she gives when she is with the kids and grandkids.

Let us just to agree not to agree on this current carly...I don't think she is warm and I don't like her....cannot change my mind.
DeleteI can't totally blame Carly on this situation. She only thinks it'll be devastating to Willow if she finds out that Nina's her birth mother . Promise or no promise, I think Drew needs to man up, and explain the real reason finding her birth mother is so vital. I mean I hope they don't drag this out until Willow's in ICU.
ReplyDeleteCarly is an accessory to kidnapping at this point. This would be the second time shes known the identity of Nina's child and she chose to play god out of spite and not say anything. People may bring up Harmony, but how do you side with the person that drugged you and stuffed you in the back of a car? The devastation angle was the same thing Carly used to justify not telling Nina that Nelle was her daughter because of all of the crimes Nelle committed. Lastly, the reveal is probably going to be a last minute thing.

First of all willow is not a child and second it was really Madeline who gave her away to harmony so technically it was those two and Madeline more so since she gave the baby to harmony it just wasn’t legal because they never told Silas it would have been his decision and solely his not Madeline , Carly is wrong but she thinks she’s protecting willow who can’t stand Nina because Nina has always been mean to her from the get , she doesn’t know what’s going on with willow and I hope when it does come out that Nina feels like shit for the way she’s always treated her but I’m sure she won’t she’ll just act like she owns willow and has all rights to her with no personal boundaries or space !

DeleteBoy, they sure did a number on Willow. Little (or none) makeup, sallow and pale - like a woman who is not only pregnant, but also battling cancer. Probably one of the more realistic and honest things GH has ever done.
ReplyDeleteIt's much more authentic, and so much easier to relate to for those who have been through something similar. Rooting for Willow! She needs to let her family and friends help her already. I agree that this storyline is dragging and needs to speed up, for her sake.
