Yes, I do not see where her character is going. She knew what Jason was about for how long many, many years, so why now? Is it because her Mum is guilting her out because she is jealous and a drunk? Sam put here share of endangering her children, she is way hypocritical, all of a sudden she woke?
I still think the sudden twin storyline should have played out with Billy MIller being original Jason and Steve Burton being the twin. It would have been nice to see Jason grow up and realize that some things are more important than Carly and Sonny, like his own family. Steve Burton could have created a whole new character.

She didn't talk that kid into being unhappy he clearly already was, she finally did her job as a mom and asked how he felt and as you'd expect having a parent that drops his family on a dime to run to sonny and carly leaves a kid cofused sad and wondering why other parents don't want their kids going over to play at the hitmans house.
What a bombshell Sam wants to leave Jason I think Trini is close to find out her father is still alive wait until Sonny finds Julian
