ReplyDeleteHa! I'm on part 2 Cozi channel showing Highway to Heaven episode "The Monster" who is played by a young Jeff Kober, GH's Cyrus Renault! LOL His character's name is Julian and he has a large port wine stain on his face and has befriended a blind young woman because most of the towns people treat him badly due to his birthmark. Most of the episodes are on YouTube. It's interesting to see 'Cyrus' as a tall young guy in a different role.

They are both Cassadines! Charlotte's father is Valentin Cassadine, and Danny's grandmother is Alexis Cassadine, and Valentin (father Victor) and Alexis (father Mikkos) are first cousins!

Deleteyeah they're cousins. Definitely messed up. If cousins can get together now, then Sasha and Cody didn't do anything wrong. I really hope someone keeps them separate and cut that out because it's definitely disturbing.

I think this analysis of the cousin hierarchy is correct, but it is making my head spin (so I'm worried that after I post this, I'll find a mistake).
DeleteThe father of Alexis (Mikkos Cassadine) and the father of Valentin (Victor Cassadine) are brothers. That makes Alexis and Valentin first cousins.
Charlotte (as Valentin's daughter) is first-cousin-once-removed to Alexis and second cousin to Alexis' children (Sam, Kristina and Molly).
That makes Danny (as Sam's son) a second-cousin-once-removed to Charlotte.
So Danny's great-great grandparents (that's four generations ago!) are the ancestors that he has in common with Charlotte.
The blood relationship is just not that close. Many of us have second-cousins-once-removed out there that we don't even know exist.
As I mentioned in another comment above, second cousins are legally allowed to marry in all 50 states, and Charlotte and Danny are actually another step MORE DISTANT than second cousins.
Side note:
As I was thinking about this, I realized Charlotte is the product of an egg stolen from Lulu (by Valentin) and Rocco is the product of an embryo stolen from Lulu (by Britt).
So Lulu missed out on holding both of her kids as babies. Yeesh.

DeletePeople in Port Charles are just super close, so it all feels like family somehow, in my mind all the kids were like brothers and sisters, Danny, Rocco, Charlotte :D I also lay in bed wondering if and how these two are related haha
What I am wondering about those laws is the following: 19 States allow first cousin marriages (plus a couple more, but with restrictions). I assume the other States' reason for not allowing them is the fact that first cousins' children have a 1-2% higher chance to be born with birth defects than the general population.
Now what if you don't marry your cousin, but have a kid with them, does that have any legal consequences?
But if that were the case, you would have to sue women over 35 or so who have children, as well, since they also have an increased risk to have a baby born with abnormalities, so I don't think that's going to happen.
But if you grew up as family then it's super weird to be in a relationship (I was open to the idea of Sasha and Cody, since they didn't, but I know I was the only one lol)
There was this show on tv over here where 2 siblings were in a relationship since the woman had "only" been adopted.. yea, AS A BABY. They grew up as siblings and then ended up as a couple and none of the other characters on the show even raised an eyebrow, I was speechless lol.
So all of that egg stealing happened on-screen? Too bad I missed it, I started watching 6 years ago.
But back on the original topic haha, I wonder how Valentin is going to react, I have no idea what he thinks about Danny, but he is going to have an opinion about his petite's dating life :D

And that is definitely the most committed relationship Lucy was ever in... 10 points to GH Gryffindor, for whoever knew their GH history! Martin and Tracy have potential, if GH would stop making him so awful.
