Sonny is a cold blooded killer! So many people seem to forget this while watching the more recent shows with the "kinder, gentler" Sonny. He's a thug and a killer and I'm in the "get rid of the mob" bullshit. GH has somehow managed to turn him into a HERO of sorts, when all he is is a killer. Ugh.
I always say the exact same thing...how could people like this character...it is beyond me..he is horrible but they try to shove him down our throats and try to make him look like a saint..hate that character
We dont forget. We understand that the character on our show are complex characters, rather than just good and evil. The so called respectable citizens, the cops, the mayor, etc are often corrupt. Things arent all just what they seem. Sonny and his men do a better job of policing port Charles than the detectives of PCPD who couldnt solve there way out if a paper bag. Not one person has forgotten that Sonny is a mobster. Just like we know that Tony is a mobster on the Sopranos, and yet people still love his character and his stories. Some of us like complex characters with interesting motivations who try to redeem themselves over and over, rather than simplistic doo gooders who dont have any nuance, and really arent that interesting. A d some of us prefer the bad guys with a good heart over the respectable wealthy family who is just as dirty and shady but holds themselves up as a pilar of the community. (I'm looking at you, Q's.) Clearly you are the type that prefers your "good guys" served up to you with a nice squeaky clean wash of respectability. And have no interest in character development or psychological development a d complex motivations. Some of us feel the exact opposite. Enough of us that Sonny and Jason are ememsly popular and no one is shoving them down our throats. They are featured by popular demand.
LOL.. Joslynn,,, that would only put her at 10 yrs old in 2020. She's currently 16-18 now in 2020 not 10! LOL,, Life goes by way to fast and soaps makes it go so much faster by almost 10 yrs!
Well most of the men on the show,w the exception of Spinelli,have killed somebody,lol, and a lot of the women too.The show has a lot of criminals, at least for the adults.But i love it,& i cant stop watching even if i tried 😁

ReplyDeleteExactly. Most soap characters are ambiguous a d multilayered. They do good and bad things for good and bad reasons.
